Besan Ladoo or Besan ke Laddu is a popular Indian sweet made from gram flour, powdered sugar and clarified butter (ghee). Make this decadent sweet with my easy fail-proof recipe. Besan Ladoo are round sweet balls made by roasting gram flour and ghee together, and then adding sugar to make a thick pasty dough that is then formed into delicious. Besan ladoo are delicious sweet balls made with gram flour, sugar, ghee & cardamoms.

The ingredients needed to make Besan Laddus:
  1. Get 500 grams Besan flour
  2. Make ready 200 grams Clarified butter /ghee
  3. Take 250 grams Sugar powder
  4. Take 250 grams Jaggery powder
  5. Make ready 1 tsp Cardamom poder
  6. Prepare 1/2 cup Pista pieces
  7. Get 1/2 cup Dry grapes

Note: Ghee is the Indian version of clarified butter, with a rich, nutty flavor. It's available in jars where Indian foods are sold. Note: Besan, or chana besan, is a rich-tasting flour made from ground garbanzo beans. A few pointers for making great besan laddus-The roasting time is dependent on several factors- The quality of the chickpea flour and the thickness of the utensil in which it is roasted are prime determinants of the time required for cooking these laddus.

Instructions to make Besan Laddus:
  1. Heat the ghee in a pan, add besan roast well on sim fire.
  2. Roast till besan loose its raw smell and mixes with ghee and becomes soft mixute and leaves pan. Turn off the gas and allow mixture to cool.
  3. Once ghee roasted besan cools-add powdered jaggery, sugar, dry grapes and mix with hand till mixture turns smooth to make besan balls. Make besan balls by greasing ghee to hand put pista pieces on top. Besan Laddus are ready.

Note: Besan, or chana besan, is a rich-tasting flour made from ground garbanzo beans. A few pointers for making great besan laddus-The roasting time is dependent on several factors- The quality of the chickpea flour and the thickness of the utensil in which it is roasted are prime determinants of the time required for cooking these laddus. You need to keep stirring the besan mixture after you take it off the heat as the besan. I can hog on them all day long 🙂 My first attempt at creating this recipe ended up with a crumbly mixture and I had to eat the laddus with a spoon. Sorry but I won't be making this again.
